Global Scanning Solutions was contracted by Global Energy Group of Henderson, Western Australia to provide Dimensional Survey and 3D Laser Scanning Services for the MODEC Venture 11 FPSO project.
The purpose of this project was to develop 3D CAD models and isometric drawings of 14 pipe spools within the process circuit.
3D Laser Scanning was utilised for obtaining accurate point cloud control information of the pipe stools and to develop an accurate statement-of-fact which was used for constructing an as-built 3D CAD models of the pipe spools.
Conventional dimensional control (DC) survey methodology using Electronic Total Station was utilised for determining the location, rotation and deflection of pipe spool flanges.
